The fifth stop of the 2026 Belgian National Tour took players to Park Zandbergen in Kontich last Sunday, where 70 competitors across eight divisions battled not only the course, but also a summer heatwave that pushed temperatures well above what most players would consider comfortable for two competitive rounds. The event was organized by Disc Golf Club Zuidrand and formed part of the 11-stop Belgian National Tour calendar.
Despite the warm conditions, the atmosphere remained positive throughout the day. Players from across Belgium and neighboring countries gathered to test themselves on the familiar fairways of Park Zandbergen, a course that has become one of the regular stops on the national circuit.

The standout performance of the tournament came from Latvia's Klāvs Pocius in the RAH division. Pocius put together a spectacular hot round of -10, the lowest score of the day, demonstrating impressive control and consistency despite the temperatures. His score was one of those rounds that turns heads across the tournament and set the benchmark for the rest of the field. Check out the full results on the PDGA event page!

See you next time!

With players spending hours under the summer sun, staying focused became almost as important as executing shots. Hydration, pacing, and mental endurance were key factors throughout the day, making every birdie and every saved par feel just a little more valuable.
Events like these are only possible thanks to the people working behind the scenes. A huge thank you goes to tournament director Jeroen Op de Beeck for coordinating the event, as well as the many volunteers who helped make the day run smoothly. Credit is also due to Disc Golf Club Zuidrand for organizing another successful National Tour stop and, of course, to every player who came out to compete despite the challenging weather conditions.
As the Belgian National Tour season continues, Park Zandbergen once again proved why it remains a favorite stop on the calendar: a welcoming atmosphere, strong competition, and a community willing to brave even a heatwave for a day of disc golf.
Next stop: National Tour #6 in Brugge. See you there!
